About DressCodez(513)

Our Mission: DressCodez is your style guide to the Cincinnati area. It's that friend in your life who will give it to you straight when you need it, but will make you laugh and pick you up along the way. Our goal is to provide you with lively features that celebrate venues and inform you on all the "must-knows." We want to build a community of everyday "stylists" who empower one another to truly feel their best and embody confidence.

How It Started:

Creator and Editor, Kim Amedro is super indecisive when it comes to most things...picking out what to wear is at the top of that list. After moving downtown, she quickly realized her style (while she loved it) was kind of...outdated. Okay, more like she was clueless on what post-college "going out" clothes actually looked like.

She found herself texting her friends constantly, "What are you wearing?" Naturally, outfit photo swapping followed (pre-selfie era). Luckily, the more she asked around...the more she noticed other girls were asking the same thing.

Hence this space. A one stop shop for style tips and survival advice on the best places to venture in Cincinnati. But, most importantly, a sense of confidence (and reassurance you won't have a total Elle Wood's "costume party" moment).

About Kim

As previously stated, I'm a terribly indecisive, eclectic post-grad who loves Syracuse basketball, my Siberian husky Felipe, good writing and terrible reality T.V.

Now, let me explain the deeper reason for the conceptualization of this site. Like many, many girls and women, I have suffered through poor body image and eating disorders since my freshman year of high school.

Naturally this affects self-esteem and how you present yourself. When I was heavier, I hid in hoodies and in the house.

I still don't look in the mirror or at pictures and see the same girl twice. But, it's getting so much better because I have focused on NOT obsessing and enjoying what I do have.

I feel the right attitude and the right outfit can conquer any insecurity.

Style Profile: Bohemian gypsy.

Closet Staples: a printed top, a statement ring and a fun wedge shoe

Fun Fact: Felipe gets a dapper sweater every major holiday. He may not move in it, but it makes for a great picture.
