The Vibe: A dimly-lit, laid back tavern/pub where people gather for an easy hang out, not a "wild night." The servers are friendly, kilt wearing people who are very attentive. This was actually the first bar I went to downtown after turning 21. I sat down on one of their big, cushioned bar stools looked the bartender right in the eye and said, "I just turned 21. I don't know beer at all....a fancy night at college was when we chose Bud Light over Nati Light." Rather than totally exploiting my lack of knowledge and giving me an expensive beer, he walked me down the menu and gave me gloriously generous samples.

FYI, I went with Strongbow. It's a cider. Yes, I'm that girl.

Style Profile: Casual. That's right, forget the dressy half, just casual. Okay, maybe not sweats. But, a clean t-shirt and jeans with minimal jewelry will definitely do. It's a great place to go before a game since it's right on Walnut, never very crowded and decently priced. The smarter fans know to take the extra steps to get here rather than be upcharged at the stadium front bars (before the actual stadiums take even more of your money).

Must Order: A Strongbow, duh. No, honestly, it's a Scottish bar. Order a Belhaven Scottish Ale! Beware of the Speckled Hen--the name rolls off your tongue, the beer...not so much.

Must Do: There's a big red king's chair in the bar. Find it, take a picture with it and hashtag it #KingofNicholsons.

Must Know: This is a restaurant/bar, so it actually closes at 1 a.m. on the weekends 11 p.m. on the weekdays. The kitchen stays open to 11:30 on the weekends, and the apps will run around 8-12 bucks.
