The Vibe: This is one of my favorite bars in the city. It has everything I need: dim lighting, plush seating, a good selection of liquor, beer specials, and an old vault (the bar used to be a bank). Tapestried walls provide the perfect backdrop for the funky dance moves that are typical of a weekend night. Music genres include rap, alternative, electronic, all of which cater to the varied and eclectic patrons who frequent there.
Style Profile: The bartenders are all laid back but focused. There is no specific dress code, and their style is probably what they would wear on any given day (or night). The customer style varies from perfectly manicured to “I just left American Apparel wearing everything they own.” It’s basically a style free-for-all.
Must Order: There is nothing the bar is known for, and their drink specials vary on any given night. The bar is more about mingling, playing pool and dancing rather than frilly drinks.
Must Do: Play pool! There is one table in the front room and an entire back room dedicated to the sport. If cue balls aren’t your thing then I suggest you dance, dance, dance. On Tuesdays you can now BYOBG: bring your own board game!
Must Know: The bar attracts singles and couples, so if you are going out with friends and don't want to get hit on, I suggest you fashion yourself a sign that says “Taken.”
